Northeastern pharmacy graduates earn highest pass rate on NAPLEX in Northeast region

When spending the time and money it takes to obtain a PharmD degree, you want to make sure your education is setting you up for success.

That’s what you get in Northeastern University’s School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, where 97% of our pharmacy graduates who took the North American Pharmacy Licensure Examination (NAPLEX), passed in their first attempt.

This impressive first-time pass rate distinguishes Northeastern as #1 in the state of Massachusetts and in the Northeast region, and tied for the second-highest pass rate in the nation.

Since graduates must pass the NAPLEX before they are able to work as a practicing pharmacist, Northeastern graduates’ success rate means our graduates are able to enter the pharmacy workforce sooner than most other graduates.

This speaks to the strong level of preparation provided by both the School’s faculty and curriculum.

“The School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences is proud of our pharmacy graduates’ accomplishment in attaining the second-highest North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination (NAPLEX) first-time pass rate in the country.  The graduates that complete our program are highly knowledgeable and competitive in today’s workforce,” said Michael Gonyeau, clinical professor and assistant dean of academic affairs and assessment.

Northeastern PharmD graduates have a long-running string of high scores, with a 3-year average of over 94%. Because of this, and other factors that play into the unparalleled education Northeastern PharmD students receive, major industry leaders are looking to Northeastern graduates to fill empty positions, serving the communities both locally and nationally.
