Congratulations to Dr. David Nolan, who has been awarded the Distinguished Mentor Award in Residency & Fellowship Education from the American Physical Therapy Association.
Nolan is an associate clinical professor at Bouvé College of Health Sciences’ Department of Physical Therapy, Movement and Rehabilitation Sciences. He was instrumental in the creation of the Sports Physical Therapy Residency program at Northeastern and continues to be the director and primary mentor within the program.
The award is given to someone who is engaged or has demonstrated life-long engagement in residency/fellowship education, who has distinguished themselves through excellence in mentoring, has distinguished themselves in a clinical specialty area, and has been involved in mentoring for at least three years.
The Association says it aims to “supports excellence in physical therapy education and education research to better meeting the needs of patients, families and communities through strategic communication among our members and across professional communities, through continuing professional development and enhanced education research, and through collaborative action.”
